Prostatitis

Prostatitis is one of most common urological diseases causing prostate inflammation. Most often prostatitis affects men of reproductive age 20-50. Major cause of prostatitis is peculiarity of prostate gland anatomy and its blood supply. However, the disease may be caused by infection. Depending on the cause, inflammation of prostate gland may be:
- infectious
- congestive
- mixed

Infection gets into prostate gland from urethra, bladder, rectum, and also it may be transferred via limpha and blood vessels of pelvis. The agents of the disease may be pathogenic or opportunistic bacteria (Proteus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, staphylococcus, streptococcus, etc.) or venerean infections (gonococcus, trichomonas, chlamydia, mycoplasma, etc.).

Congestive form of the disease occurs in men with disorder of blood circulation or lymph circulation in pelvic organs, which leads to hormonal changes. Sedentary life-style, low sexual activity, sauna abuse, bad habbits contribute to the reduction of immunity lowering.

In mixed form of prostatitis the inflammation of prostate gland occurs when infection gets into stagnant sperm which is observed in congestive prostatitis.
However, infection not always leads to prostate inflammation development. Next factors are needed for occurring that:
1. Chronic diseases
2. Blood circulation disorder
3. Metabolic disorders
4. Sedentary life-style
5. Lack of sexual activity or, conversely, excessive sexual activity
6. Perineum trauma
7. Hypothermia
