What Is Prostatitis?


Prostatitis is an inflammation of prostate gland. Prostatitis is most common inflammatory disease of genitalia among men of working age. Prostatitis may be acute or chronic, and in some cases is observed   chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

Acute prostatitis shows with signs common for acute diseases such as pain, increased body temperature, chill. These symptoms are followed with different degree of inappropriate urination.

Chronic prostatitis may course without symptoms or incomplete manifestations (non-intensive dull pains in crotch, periodical urination disorders). The danger of the disease is that with time it may lead to such serious problems as potency lowering and infertility in men.

Besides this, prostatitis being the focus of infection may be complicated by inflammatory diseases of other organs of urogenital system, diapyesis of prostate gland and soft tissues of pelvis.
